When we plugged the caravan into the mains we tripped the fuse between the transformer and the batteries. We changed the fuse from a 30a to a 40a and the wires started to smoke.

Another thing that annoyed me about the avan wiring was that anywhere and everywhere a wire needed to be spliced into a circuit the installer had used scotch locks. New age caravans have specific wiring requirements to connect your caravan successfully to your tow vehicle. If you can get a wiring diagram from your caravan manufacturer before we wire your car we can ensure every circuit will be in the right. When i quizzed the avan rep at the wauchope caravan camping show i was told oh you mean the blue box no theyre not designed to do that.
