Wiring diagrams and service information enclosed replace contents in bag surface elements infinite switch the surface elements and controls provide an infinite choice of heat settings for cooking. No neutral is used or needed.
Figure 5 46 Wiring Diagram Of M Series Oven
Oven heating element wiring diagram. In a electric cooktop the heater elements are coiled into a round thing called a surface unit. I wanted a toaster oven that has a shield over the heating elements. The neutral is used to provide the 120v. In an oven with an exposed element you have radiative heat essentially infra red light where heat is transferred directly from the heating element into the workpiece in the oven. The oven heating element needs only the 240v supply. Do not confuse neutral and ground.
All surface controls are marked on the control panel for their respective heating. The two black wires will be connected to the other lead. If you have a regular stove the oven light and maybe the timer need 120v. Controls are safety type and must be pushed in before turning. Be sure that you have the range unplugged. Where the wires are connected to the electric oven you will need to install the bonding crimp sleeve to bond the grounded wire and the neutral wire as shown in the 3 wire hook up wiring diagram below.
In some cases where the home is older than the new electric oven heres what you would have to do. A broil element is located above the oven it affects. The yellow wire y1 should be connected to one lead of the element. Inside the oven the heating element is called a bake or broil element. A partial wiring diagram for your range is shown in the image below. A bake element is located below the oven it affects.
It has nothing to do with the oven heating element. The quality of this diagram is poor but it should help you connect the bake element properly. Only the ground wire is connected.
