I run a 12v total loss system on my 500 triumph and have made up an ignition cicuit using an ignition box and coils from a yamaha twin i thinkand by making a trigger circuit that fits where the contact breakers go. I have some info on converting to a total loss ignition for racing but im wondering if someone can help me figure out how to calculate a good battery size to use in the system. Do you need to have a battery at all. Anyone know of a web page that has a wiring diagram for a points and condenser total loss ignition for a single cylinder motorcycle. Do i need to use the key still or can i have just a kill switch. Also the bike i have have is a 1971 cb500.
